About the event
Join us for a fascinating in-person event exploring medieval astrology. We begin at 10:45 for an 11:00 start at Curious Cures, a Medieval Medicine exhibition at Cambridge University Library featuring rare medieval manuscripts, including astrological texts used in the diagnosis and treatment of illness.
After the exhibition, we will move to No. 30 on Chesterton Road for 13:00 where we will enjoy a private lunch with a special interactive talk from our guest speaker, astrologer and medievalist Chris Mitchell. "THE MEDIEVAL TOOLBOX"
Medieval astrology, like modern astrology, has planets, signs, and houses - but although the roots are the same, the focus is different. In modern astrology, we focus a lot on signs - Aquarius is quirky and independent, Virgo is analytical and so on. In medieval astrology, the planets were the active players, so finding out your strongest planet was always a good starting point. How do you do that?…
